Twice a year, Dog Bar transforms into a glowing playground for one unforgettable night and Saturday, October 3 is your next chance to experience it. Three hours of glowing suds, splashing pups, and house beats by DJ Stefan, all under the black lights at Sarasota’s only off-leash dog park with a full bar and restaurant.
This round, we’re partying with a purpose: the night benefits Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida, with vendors and raffles all evening long.

Fundraiser for Golden Retriever Rescue
This rave has a mission to help Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida, a volunteer-run nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes goldens across the Gulf Coast.
Sarasota's biggest dog-friendly nightlife event is back!
Whether your dog is a foam-diving veteran or it’s their first time at a Sarasota dog event, you’ll find a welcoming pack of pet parents, glowing photo ops at every turn, and the most unique dog-friendly nightlife experience on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Entry is free for members and $7 per dog for non-members, the foam is pet-safe, and the memories are guaranteed.

So… what's a dog rave, actually?
It’s exactly what it sounds like, and also not at all what you’re picturing.
Picture an off-leash dog park. Now turn down the sun, turn on the black lights, drop the bass just a little, and add a couple dozen dogs in glow collars chasing each other across the patio like they invented joy.
Their humans? Drink in hand. Maybe a glow stick around their neck. Definitely the most fun they’ve had on a Saturday in months.
It’s not a club. It’s not a kids’ birthday party. It’s the thing in between that doesn’t really exist anywhere else in Sarasota, adults having actual fun, dogs having the social life they deserve, and everyone going home tired in the best way.
Why we started doing this
The honest version: adults need play too.
Somewhere between buying a house and learning what a 401(k) is, most of us stopped doing anything that felt a little ridiculous. We go to dinner. We go to brunch. We watch other people have fun on our phones.
A dog rave is permission. Permission to put on a glow stick at 35. Permission to dance a little. Permission to bring your dog because honestly your dog is your social life some weeks, and that’s not a thing to be embarrassed about, that’s a thing to lean into.
The first Sarasota Dog Rave was so much fun. Strangers ended up taking pictures of each other’s dogs. People stayed an hour after closing because nobody wanted to leave. That’s what we mean when we say community disguised as a dog bar. The rave is just the version with better lighting.
What to wear, what to bring, what to expect
Wear: Something white or neon if you want to glow under the black lights. Or don’t. Nobody’s checking. Comfortable shoes — you’ll be standing.
Bring: Your dog, fully pre-registered. Your ID. A loose plan to stay later than you meant to.
Expect:
- Glow paint on your dog (the good kind — pet-safe, washes out)
- A foam moment (yes, dogs love it; yes, we keep it contained and dog-safe)
- Photo ops you’ll actually want to post
- At least one stranger telling you your dog is the best dog there. They’re right. So is the next person who says it about theirs.
- Tired dog. Cold drink. Faces you’ll recognize next time.
How to come
- Pre-register your dog at dbsrq.com — we need current vaccinations and proof of spay/neuter. This is what keeps the park safe for everyone.
- Become a member (one-time, easy, and it’s your ticket to every Dog Bar event going forward).
- Show up. That’s it. No tickets. Just standard entry.
